The 32nd Street Tutoring event involves homework help and tutoring 1st graders from the 32nd Street Elementary School near the USC Village. APO has fostered a continuous relationship with 32nd Street and the kids love when we visit them. This is a great event if you’re passionate about education/learning and free Friday mornings/afternoons!
EcoDorm is APO’s newest service event in which you participate in cleanups around the South LA area. EcoDorm was founded with the goal of connecting campuses and neighborhoods for climate justice. This is a great event if you’re passionate about climate justice and have an hour to spare on Saturdays!
The mission of the Hollywood Food Coalition is to feed and serve the immediate needs of the hungry every day of the year so they can build better lives. This event involves preparing and serving food in Hollywood to the houseless population. This is a great event if you’re passionate about food insecurity and can commit to volunteering during the week at night.
Volunteers for Kids City Hope Place tutor middle and high school students with subjects they need to succeed in attending college and beyond. Their mission is to help low-income and youth of color to develop personally, academically, and professionally in a nurturing community. This is a great event if you’re passionate about education and can volunteer on Thursday afternoons!
Water Drop LA is a 100% volunteer-run community organization whose mission is to provide clean water and other necessities to communities facing water inaccessibility. Volunteers help deliver gallons of water to the houseless populations within Skid Row and supply organizations with water to distribute.
LA Food Not Bombs is a chapter of the Food Not Bombs organization that works to support food insecurity within the houseless population. Along with Food Not Bombs chapters all over the world, we get together once a week to cook and serve a filling, fresh, vegan meal for anyone who wants to eat with us. Volunteer duties include meal preparation and serving meals in DTLA.
